Pictures of hubby

Yesterday was so pretty. I asked my husband if he wanted me to take pictures of him. He said no, lol. But I suckered him into it. We went and drove to some locations, the only problem was, it was windy. My husband has very dry eyes and alot of the pictures came out squinty, because of the wind. But I did get some good ones. I hope you enjoy....

No work today

Since there is no school, there is no work. I thought I would get alot done today, but honestly this weather is making me so sleepy. I just woke up from a nap. My husband was suppose to go to work, he got in the truck, headed down the street and was all over the place. He came back home and called in. I was laying in bed watching tv, when he came back and said it was to bad out there. I asked, how far did you get? He said OReilys, which by the way is like a block or two a way. He was gone for about 20 minutes. So I havent been out there, but I have been watching the news, and its not pretty. But I have to admit.....I enjoy this weather. I enjoy it, when I dont have to go anywhere. So I hope everyone stays safe out there and be careful!!!

Learning is fun

Im still learning, but learning is fun!!! I look at all of these great photographers pictures, trying to get an idea of what to do, and I know I have a long ways from being as good as them, but like I said....Learning is FUN!!! Enjoy...dont be afraid to leave a comment...comments motivate me :)

Last Saturday

I wanted to share with you what last Saturday looked like at the falls. I took some pics of the stairs going up next to the falls. It was just ice and water. I also found a cell phone out there next to a rock. So when we left, we called the dad that was in the contacts and we met up with them so they could get their phone. It ended up being a teenage girls phone, who didnt even know it was missing. The parents came and picked up the phone at Lucy Park. I wouldnt of ever thought about keeping it or throwing it away. I know some people who might think, "oh free phone", but I know if something like that was to happen to me, I would be grateful for someones kindness. But thats something that is wrong with the world today. When you show kindness and honesty, people get freaked out and want to thank you up and down, when it should just be a natural thing. I am an honest person....sometimes Im TOO honest. I have to admit, sometimes I put my opinion out there when its not needed. lol. Thats something Im working on. But at the end of the day, I can rest and say that I did the right thing with this phone. Something so small, could of made someones day.
But about the pictures....yes it was cold....and icy...but the day was pretty. Here are some of the falls.

Today was cold...

BUT...we had a good day. I had only one client today, because everyone cancelled due to the cold weather. I don't blame them, I understand. So we are rescheduling them, but the one client I did have, we did get alot of pictures at different locations. She had one of her friends come at the end of the day and we got a lot of cute shots. I wasn't quite sure what to do with 17 year old friends, but we figured out some stuff and it turned out great. I'm still learning and today was a good experience for me. I do have to say, we went to a train track and I had told her, that I saw a picture on the Internet, where there was a senior boy and then there was a train coming behind him. It was a breathtaking picture, because you have to just think of everything that is going on at that moment. The photographer taking the picture, thinking of "the shot", plus shes thinking of how close is the train? Then you have to think of him, how hes posing and how close is this train behind me?, and of course if theres a parent nearby and the person driving the train. All for one picture, but it was awesome. So we went to the train track, and I was explaining her this picture and she said she would of freaked out.

Low and behold....

She did freak out! lol
Now I did get the shot...I'm in the process of editing right now. I will post more later of today.

Second day of the week

So its Monday....My long day at work....It was a good day....Im just getting excited for this weekend. Im looking forward to taking pictures!!! Also, this Friday, Im going to go get me a massage. I have been so tense and stressed out and in front of the computer so much that my neck is tight and its starting to give me bad headaches.
I want to ask everyone for some prayers. My husbands job is ending soon...their closing the doors...and I would like to ask for you to pray for him to find a good job with insurance that God wants him to have. Sometimes when life gives us confusing paths, we get caught up, whats best for us. Sometimes we need to step back and see what door God is chosing for us to go through. I believe God knows whats best for us and if we choose to follow him, he will never let us down and always bless us and take care of us. Kinda like this photography thing. I know God has chosen me to do this and I put my trust and faith in him. Now I ask my husband to listen and follow his heart what God will choose for him. I just know I cant get insurance without him, so he needs a job with insurance. Deep down in me and deep down in him, we are kinda excited about his journey and change. We both feel like something good is going to come out of this. I feel all giddy inside, like a very happy day is coming and i cant quite put my finger on it. I just know its a good feeling.
But please keep us in your prayers. Prayers work wonders!!!

Bride Wars movie was awesome

So me and hubby....yes hubby...went and saw the movie. It was funny, cute, and emotional. I had a lady next to me, tell my husband that she commends him for coming and seeing this movie, lol. There was some men there, but mostly all women. It was a very cute movie and I know I want it when it comes on DVD. Mark was telling me it was very predictable...but i didnt care...it was cute with no foul language or nudity or scary stuff. It was an enjoyable movie!!! I would recommend all you ladies out there to go watch it!! It would be really good to go watch it with your hubby or best girlfriend, or maybe even a double date with both people :)

Photography Class

I went to a photography class that DeEdra Folmer taught today. She owns Photo [e] Motion here in the Wichita Falls area. I have to say I learned alot and Im getting excited to try some of the things she taught us with my camera. I feel so blessed to have photography friends here in my area that are willing to teach their gift that God has given them. Also to learn from different people, you will get a different kind of taste of pictures. No one is alike!!! Carla Blanchard is also someone who is willing to help me. The more I sometimes wonder why God has wanted me to bestow in this, the more he puts in front of me to help me. Im getting really excited for this next weekend when I have my first clients and for more practice. Practice makes perfect right? Then when I get done, I will post some pics of them. I still do have some openings left if anyone is interested.

Been super busy

I hope tonight I can just relax and get some stuff done at home that I have been needing to do. Time has not been on my side latley. I have been super busy and looking forward to the 24th. I have some spots filled, but I still have some open. This weekend I have a photography class that Im going to attend. I am so anxious to learn new stuff from anyone willing to teach :)

I was reading some of my mail on cafemom today and I came across this and thought it was too cute not to share. I hope you enjoy.

Garage Door
The boss walked into the office one morning not knowing his zipper was down and his fly area wide open. His assistant walked up to him and said, 'This morning when you left your house, did you close your garage door?' The boss told her he knew he'd closed the garage door, and walked into his office puzzled by the question. As he finished his paperwork, he suddenly noticed his fly was open, and zipped it up. He then understood his assistant's question about his 'garage door.'He headed out for a cup of coffee and paused by her desk to ask, 'When my garage door was open, did you see my Hummer parked in there?' She smiled and said, 'No, I didn't. All I saw was an old mini van with two flat tires.

An elderly gentleman...
Had serious hearing problems for a number of years. He went to the doctor and the doctor was able to have him fitted for a set of hearing aids that allowed the gentleman to hear 100%
The elderly gentleman went back in a month to the doctor and the doctor said, 'Your hearing is perfect. Your family must be really pleased that you can hear again.'
The gentleman replied, 'Oh, I haven't told my family yet.
I just sit around and listen to the conversations. I've changed my will three times!'

Two elderly gentlemen from a retirement center were sitting on a bench under a tree when one turns to the other and says: 'Slim, I'm 83 years old now and I'm just full of aches and pains. I know you're about my age. How do you feel?'
Slim says, 'I feel just like a newborn baby.'
'Really!? Like a newborn baby!?'
'Yep. No hair, no teeth, and I think I just wet my pants.'

An elderly couple had dinner at another couple's house, and after eating, the wives left the table and went into the kitchen.
The two gentlemen were talking, and one said, 'Last night we went out to a new restaurant and it was really great. I would recommend it very highly.'
The other man said, 'What is the name of the restaurant?'
The first man thought and thought and finally said, 'What is the name of that flower you give to someone you love?
You know... The one that's red and has thorns.'
'Do you mean a rose?'
'Yes, that's the one,' replied the man. He then turned towards the kitchen and yelled, 'Rose, what's the name of that restaurant we went to last night?
'

Hospital regulations require a wheel chair for patients being discharged. However, while working as a student nurse, I found one elderly gentleman already dressed and sitting on the bed with a suitcase at his feet, who insisted he didn't need my help to leave the hospital.
After a chat about rules being rules, he reluctantly let me wheel him to the elevator.
On the way down I asked him if his wife was meeting him.
'I don't know,' he said. 'She's still upstairs in the bathroom changing out of her hospital gown.'

Couple in their nineties are both having problems remembering things. During a checkup, the doctor tells them that they're physically okay, but they might want to start writing things down to help them remember.
Later that night, while watching TV, the old man gets up from his chair. 'Want anything while I'm in the kitchen?' he asks.
'Will you get me a bowl of ice cream?'
'Sure.'
'Don't you think you should write it down so you can remember it?' she asks.
'No, I can remember it.'
'Well, I'd like some strawberries on top, too. Maybe you should write it down, so's not to forget it?'
He says, 'I can remember that. You want a bowl of ice cream with strawberries.'
'I'd also like whipped cream. I'm certain you'll forget that, write it down?' she asks.
Irritated, he says, 'I don't need to write it down, I can remember it! Ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream - I got it, for goodness sake!'
Then he toddles into the kitchen. After about 20 minutes,
The old man returns from the kitchen and hands his wife a plate of bacon and eggs. She stares at the plate for a moment.
'Where's my toast ?'

So its Monday...

Today my in-laws are leaving...oh wait....I forgot to tell you, my Father-in-law showed up and surprised hubby. He was surprised...changed some plans, but it was good. Bad news is....Hubby has been sick all weekend, even on his birthday. He has been throwing up and even today he didnt eat much, some toast, and now is laying down. I felt so sorry for him, to be sick on his birthday. I even was sick this morning. I had a Doctors appointment and had to cancel because of me being sick. So I guess there is a bug going around, but I wish he felt better. Hes been like this since Thursday.
Well...today is Monday.... time to start our first day of the work week. I am going to a photography class this weekend, just for basic learning. Im hoping to learning something. If I learn one thing, it would be worth it. Im having more and more people interested in the 24th special. So if you are interested you need to call me so I can make you a reservation.

I hope you all have a good and safe week....dont catch any bugs, make sure you wash your hands!!!

Busy Weekend

Today my Mother-in-law is coming. She lives in San Antonio where Mark is from and where all of Marks other family is, lol. Shes coming up to visit and to celebrate Marks birthday. His birthday is tomorrow and he is going to be 24. I have to say we are getting old, lol. When your 13 years old (or at least i thought this) I couldnt wait to be 16 to drive and go on dates and almost be done with school. Then you turn 16 and then 17, you finish school, go to college, life and reality and responsbilities kick in. Now were 23....married, wanting a family. A family is what I desire so much right now. I think back and wonder would I of done anything different?! Im sure everyone thinks that. I have had a good, hard life. Alot of blessings and heartaches. But I look back and think everything happened for a reason. I cant go back and change it, but I can make NOW, my reality, something special. I know in the future there is going to be hard times and more heartaches, but also there is going to be love, and laughter and miracles. When im down and i feel like my life is horrible, or everything bad happens to me.....I step back and think, "someone out there, has it harder than i do" "some little kid in the hosiptal sick of cancer, all he wishes, is to go outside and play", makes me realize how many blessings I do have. I just want you to think about that today or the next time something bad happens to you or someone you love. Rememeber God is always there, waiting for you to come to him, to talk to him, to ask him for help, to give all of you to him. He will never leave us or forsake us. He is a loving God, and he is also a jealous God. He dosent want anything or anyone to come before him in your life. Without the bad, we wouldnt know the good. Have a blessed day my friends!!!

View my new website....Client Proofs, prices and packages

I think I have my new website ready. Its where you can go look at prices, packages and look at your proofs and you can order from there too. I have been working hard on it, trying to get all the nicks and crannies out before you view it, but I think I'm ready.

JoyfulMemories.photoreflect.com

Check it out and tell me what you think.

Don't forget....REMINDER!!!! about January 24th. Its such a good deal and its practice for me. If you have a friend, it'll just be $5.00 a piece. Its worth it, for an hour. Then I can edit them and upload your pictures and you can view it. I'm going to try and buy a couple of things for props that would look cute in Pictures. Also if you want to bring anything, or wear anything particular, that's fine also. You can have as many clothes changes you like, but like i say, just remember your time frame. If you have a certain team you like, and you have things or clothes, bring those.
Don't Forget!!!!!!! :)

Joyful Memories...

Thats my new name!!! Someone told me, not to use your name because one day you may want to sell your business. My first name is Joy, so I thought it would be a good idea, to have my name in there somewhere. We came up with so many names with Joy in it and one day when I thought I had all my names picked, I threw that one out there and they all liked it.
I am 98% done with my website. I need to go over it and change some things and we will be ready to rock n roll. I do have my prices set, but they are all in my website and have alot of deals going on. For one....Every $50.00 you spend with me, you will recieve a free 8X10. So thats just a sneek peek at whats coming. This month, one of the weekends, probably at the end of the month because I have so much going on, I want to have a special. A special for practice... but for you, its a great deal!!!! Im so excited!!!!

So just drop me a line and tell me what you think of my new name. :)

I need a name....any ideas?

So I have a few names in mind that I want to use for my business. The right thing for me to do is to go get registered, if I have alot of business or not. So I was wondering what do you think that would suite me and a name for photography. Im thinking about going down tomorrow, so if you read this in time, maybe leave me a comment or email me. Thats another thing....Im not sure how many people read this blog....if you want to follow this blog, dont hesitate, its on the right hand side. I would just like to know if this is worth writing about right now. But if you dont want to follow, a simple "hello, im reading" or a comment would be appreciated.
Im slowing down on everything now. I do have a website up...Im having some problems and I called them today, but it was a holiday, so Im going to have to wait till tomorrow. I will have all the prices and you can even order off of there if you would like. I was off for this past 2 weeks, so I was trying to get as much stuff done as I can. I want to start taking appointments in January and I might have a really good deal going on, that Im excited about.
Please keep me in your prayers as i try to get this thing rollin. I feel more at peace with this and I know this is all from God. Thanks friends....

Happy New Year my friends....

Wow....2009....Does anyone remember celebrating 2000, into the millennium? Does that seem so long ago? Its 9 years later, almost a decade ago. Now I have to admit....I am not to keen on New Years...a year defines alot to me. When you look back in the years, you pick out the good and the bad based on the year (or at least I do). Now when you think of 2001, what do you think about? What pops in my head is my mom dieing and 9-11. I have to think real hard about what the good was.....I did go on my first cruise with my mom. 2003....that was the year I graduated and started college (which by the way, I did finish with perfect attendance at ACC and got a certificate in Computerized Accounting Specialist). But that was a good year....now in 2005, I found out I had kidney cancer....Not the best year for me, though I was glad that year was over. As horrible as this sounds, and its one thing I don't like about myself, that I try daily to overcome, is that I'm a pessimist. I have always looked at the bad before the good. Then if something does go bad, I was ready for it...and if something goes good, then yea for me, lol. 2008 was bittersweet for me....I had an amazing 1st anniversary. I went to San Antonio and we went to a Spurs Basketball game (which by the way, I LOVE, lol) and then my husband took me to the top of the tower in San Antonio and had a nice romantic dinner. Also this year, I went to multiple Christian concerts and got to see lots of groups. Also, I got pregnant with twins. At that time, I was the happiest in my life, that I can ever remember being....but the bitter was, I did miscarry both my twins. Now my husband and I are trying and I'm hoping by the end of this year, I will have a baby in my arms. But that is what this life is about....the good and the bad. When something bad happens, don't blame God.... You wouldn't know about the good, if nothing bad happened right? I never blamed God for my 2 miscarriages.....I wonder sometime with the reason is....I may never know....That was 2 babies he let me have, that I now have in Heaven and will see one day. My two baby boys were a blessing from God. To think they never had to deal with sin....and being hurt....but now get to sit in the lap of Jesus!!!

I hope no one is getting depressed reading this for the New Year.....

Okay people.....2009 is going to ROCK!!!!! Make it the best you can and remember no matter what good or bad happens, God is always there by your side, holding your hand.

I'm going to put some pics up from our anniversary....

Out to dinner with hubby

Hubby waiting on the elevator

The restaurant was at the top
Look at the coyote (mascot) flying in the air to make the basket
Yea....I'm the number one fan!!!
